We had a couple of days to fill in between arriving in Christchurch, and then picking up a camper for a motor camper trip round the South Island. We found Pete's Farm here on the internet and booked for two nights. It turned out to be the most memorable part of our three week NZ holiday. Pete and Gaye are wonderful hosts. We felt welcome right from the minute we arrived. Our two girls, 10 and 4 years old, loved the farm animals and were enchanted by Teddy the pet lamb. They spent most of their time outside with the animals or playing on the trampoline, just the thing after a long flight. They loved the farming and shearing demonstrations, and enjoyed the toybox and tv when it was time to come inside. We grownups enjoyed our farmstay every bit as much as the children. The rooms were comfortable, spacious and well appointed. Hearty breakfasts, and the optional three course evening meal (round the big table with Pete, Gaye and other guests) was delicious, and there was plenty of fresh local produce in it too boot! Gaye was also a great source of info for local activities and final planning tips for our 3 week campervan tour. Pete and Gaye create an atmosphere that is a mix of family friendliness and top notch hospitality. There were two other couples staying at about the same time as us. The layout of the house enabled all of us to mix and enjoy each other's company, or enjoy a little bit of private time as we pleased. Thanks again to Pete, Gaye and family for a great Kiwi welcome and friendly start to our NZ holiday! Nick, Kristin, Johanna and Alyssa Hayes Darwin NT, Australia

Four of us, 2 adult couples were fortunate enough to select Pete's Farm as one our B & B's during our Feb 2009 visit to New Zealand. Along with excellent accommodations we were given great sight seeing advise, 2 delicious dinners at very reasonable prices and top drawer treatment. The friendly hospitality shown by Peter and Gaye helped make our trip a memorable experience.

The room is very nice and cosy, the hosts are friendly & make you feel like part of the family, the farm activities/experience is great. Shearing the sheep, toughing the sheeps, see how the cows are milked etc. Breakfast.... It is like the buffet breakfast in the hotel. So many choices!!
We had a great stay. Highly recommended!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pete's Farmstay. The hosts Pete and Gaye went out of their way to welcome us into their modern, warm inviting home. They were extremely friendly and helped us with anything we needed to know. The facilities were comparable to that of a 5 star hotel and the food was delicious. We strongly recommend staying here. Thanks Pete and Gaye.
Chris, New Zealand, April 2008

The welcome from the family is joyous and caring, come and stay. The evening meal cooked by Gaye is to dream about. The sky is the dominant feature here, early morning sun falling gold on green. Sunsets ever changing pink and flame. Pale blue skies massed with cloud. This farm is magical the tranquil scenes are received from picture windows.
